Lip Scrub

This weather is bananas. It’s more hot and cold then my high school frenemy! It’s got all of our lips flaking all over the place. My daughter has celiac and her skin is sensitive to begin with (rashes on her cheeks, knees and elbows) and her lips are starting to go downhill. She has the biggest lips (so jealous!! She got that from my husbands side) and it’s so sad to see them peel and bleed. I beg her to smother them with lip balm but she always grabs lipstick instead (eye roll). I had to come up with a treatment that she could rub on and off. I researched different homemade lip balms and came up with this concoction. It is so easy to make and very easy and yummy to use (lick your lips!). Rub this mixture on your lips and smack a few times. Rinse it off and then use whatever lipstick you’d like. Please email me and let me know if you notice smoother and softer lips. I did! I hate, hate, hate wearing lipstick and seeing dark flakes through it due to dry skin. I use this quite frequently now and my lips no longer have that problem. It’s an easy, natural and cheap fix. The sugar even gives the appearance of plumper skin for a short while due to the exfoliating (blood rushing to the surface). The sugar acts as an exfoliant, the honey locks in moisture and the olive oil smooths and evens out your skin. Let me know what you think.

Ingredients

• 2 tsp your choice of sugar (I used pure cane sugar. White sugar will be more exfoliating and brown will be a little less rough. Cane sugar is right in the middle)

• 1 tsp honey

• 1 tsp olive oil

Directions

1. Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl. Store mixture in a small pot with a lid.

Easy peasy. Enjoy! xoxo
